50 contestants will take part in a race around Madrid. Carrying a heavy guide upon their back at all times, the competitors must visit various different locations around the city. The first contestant to reach the end location will win a week long holiday in a Lonely Planet destination of their choice, with free chapter downloads.

The guides, each weighing 80kg and wearing a t-shirt with ‘SPAIN’ printed on the back, will act as a proper tour guide, informing the contestants about both Madrid and the whole of Spain as they make their way around the course.

Each competitor will be followed by a cameraman. If a competitor cannot carry their guide any further, they quit the race by shouting “download”. The heavy guide will get off their back and the chapter of madrid in which they are in will be downloaded to their iphone.

People can watch the race online and track the contestants. Via interactive billboards along the race route, people can support their favourite contestant/guide. Pre-and post-race interviews with the guides/contestants will also be viewable on the race website.
